Went to the cinema on Sunday and finally got around to watching Iron Man and sadly my crush on Robert Downey Jr. has been reignited! Don't get me wrong I love Marvel, have done since I was a kid and I thought Iron Man was really good - but I felt the opening sequences let it down, I found it all a bit - I don't know, just didn't have a huge impact as I thought it would. But it picked up and I must say I shall be checking that one out when it comes out on DVD. So really I should get back to making my lunch for work and straightening my mullet!
Powercut this morning, half past six in the morning - I can't straighten my hair, can't iron my clothes (which were still damp because the heating went off in the night) - nightmare which led me to being forty-six minutes late for work!
So aside from my CSI addiction, I can now add Law & Order: SVU. I bought the first series on DVD the other day and have just got around to watching it. Why wasn't I watching this sooner? I'm also partial to Criminal Intent - surely this much crime TV drama is gotta be bad for you? lol
In other news today - may be moving sooner than I thought to Canada, I'm in the scared but excited stage at the moment. I just can't believe its actually happening!
Luke Wilson, the things you make me watch just because you're in it *shakes head* I can't believe I'm watching this! Though, so far, I've not heard one Jessica Simpson song - how did she manage that? And Rachel Leigh Cook? I thought better of you!
Despite all this, I'm still watching...
Oh, and a flimsy plot line for those interested...
The City That Never Sleeps is about to meet the girl that doesn’t quit.
Jessica Simpson stars as Katie Gregerstich, a small-town Oklahoma
beauty who’s come to New York to visit her long-time boyfriend. But
after finding him in the arms of another woman, Katie decides to lose
her cheating man and to find herself. With the help of two scheming
co-workers she lands a job a top construction firm where she meets and
falls for a great guy (Luke Wilson) with an even greater secret. Now,
nothing is going to stop this go-getter from getting exactly what her
heart desires in the romantic comedy proves you can’t keep a bright,
beautiful down-home girl down.
A lot has changed in the past year or so - I've cut my hair short (granted it was only today I did it), gained a few pounds, lost a few pounds (still not happy but that'll never change lol), lost family members, moved to Wales from England for a job, about to move back to England as I'm emigrating to Canada (biggest thing to happen!) - I could go on forever...
My love affair with CSI seems to be dwindling! Granted I still love it, I really do! But CSI:NY, which I always swore was stupid and would never watch (how wrong was I?) is now my favorite (might be something to do with Mr. Cahill there on the left!). And Miami? Horatio and I are no longer friends, lets just leave it at that.
So with that all out of the way - I'm not here to make promises to myself I'll post on a regular basis, but I will try (I sound like a broken record) - so here's to new changes and mid year resolutions!
Where is your favourite place to be on a sunny Sunday afternoon?
Submitted by Rev Stan.
Nothing better than a visit to my parents and hanging out in the garden, barbecue going and a tall glass of rose and Sprite on ice.
Just like this afternoon!

...Stir crazy! Since my last post I've had no internet or Sky TV for months! I'm home with my parents nursing an impacted wisdom tooth extraction, taking advantage of my parents wireless internet. I had all four removed on Monday under general anesthetic, I really didn't think it'd hurt this much but it's killing me now. But I have my newest obsession to keep me company!
Without A Trace, I'm addicted to this show! Can't believe I didn't find it any sooner. Only trouble now is that my mum is addicted to it too, keeps nagging me to send her the next boxset! But it's only been released up to season three over here in the UK. I'll have to keep an eye out.
My poor neglected journal, I'll have to try and update it a little more this week while I recover. Maybe I should look at this positively! When you can't open your mouth you can't eat, so I might be able to loose a few of those extra pounds? Hmm...
What was the highlight of this past weekend?
Well seeing as I spent the weekend in bed ill the highlight would be watching Superman Returns, lol. Pretty dull weekend. Though I did go to the Chrysler dealership and got to sit in a 300cc and pretend that I had the money to buy it lol.
Just about to start watching Superman, I'm a little apprehensive as I'm not sure what to expect as all the reviews from friends etc. have not been that good. I love the originals, and even have a soft spot for Super Girl. The music just started and I feel all nostalgic - I'm going to keep an open mind...
What's the most extreme weather you've been in? A memorable storm? Heat wave? Or something else?
Umm, think it would have to be when I went to South Carolina a couple years back in 2004. We were staying in Myrtle Beach when the hurricane came through and we had to be evacuated. I can remember we went to the mall, coming out of there was so eerie, just so quiet. Then when we got back to the hotel things were picking up, the rain was pouring down and they were now evacuating all the guests. Then all I really remember after that was driving through the night back to Charlotte and not being able to sleep, even at the rest stop all the way to North Carolina. We figured it was the best place to go as we didn't have a clue where else to go and really it was a safe bet and turned out really good. We drove back two days later and it was like nothing had happened even though there were trees knocked down and damage all over the place, it was such a weird experience.
